DIAL is an information and advice helpline for disabled people and anybody with a problem connected to a disability issue. We will help people with benefit applications and challenging refused decisions, advice and advocacy with issues relating to aids, adaptations, community care, transport, financial problems, mobility – in fact anything that is bothering people. Our aim is to improve a persons quality of life and that of their carers and families.

DIAL now offers its service between 10am and 3pm on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Fridays. We are closed to members of the public on Thursdays. People can drop in to see us, telephone, text or email us with their problems. One of our friendly staff or volunteers will be happy to help you. Appointments are needed for help with completing benefit application forms, blue badge application forms and housing applications.  For help with Mandatory Reconsiderations, Appeal Submission forms (SSCS1) and Benefit Checks people are welcome to drop in between 10am and 2pm (not Thursday).  All other enquiries we aim to deal with at the point of contact. All our contact numbers and emails are listed on this site or you can complete one of our online enquiry forms.  We have changed our name to DIAL South Essex to reflect the areas that we now cover. We have started an outreach service in Basildon, Wickford, Pitsea, Brentwood and the Hubs in Thurrock. We have also started many new projects, full details of which can be found on this site or contact the main office for details.

We are currently recruiting new volunteers for the office and our projects.  Please go to DIAL News or contact the office if you are interested in either of these opportunities.
